Excavation in Santee

Pads, trenches and removals priced off the published cost guide. Call (619) 975-1546 or send the form below.

Santee filled in during the exact decades when a backyard pool was the point of moving east, and those pools are now fifty years old. Some get renovated. A growing number come out, because the maintenance math stopped working or because the backyard has a better future as an ADU, and Santee has become our steadiest pool-removal market. Partial fills start at $6,000 and full removals for buildable ground run to $20,000, all published.

The same tracts make friendly ADU ground. Flat lots, alley or side access on many streets and soil that digs honestly keep site prep near the bottom of our range, and the pool-out-pad-in combination is practically a Santee package deal at this point.

Along the Carlton Hills and Fanita edges the valley meets slopes, and winter drainage becomes the third leg of the local work: regrades that move water around houses, swale cuts and the occasional slope repair where an old cut has crept. The river flats stay easy; the edges keep us honest.

The water table under the pool shells

Santee pool removals hit groundwater more often than the rest of east county, because parts of the valley sit close to the San Diego River’s water table. A shell that holds water after pumping is a known local condition with a known procedure, not an emergency, and our removal quotes here include the dewatering question up front instead of discovering it on demo day.

The valley grid and its edges

Around Santee the calls come from the Carlton Hills side, the grid off Mission Gorge Road, Fanita, the river trail flats, covering ZIP 92071. If your property is near those, odds are we have probed ground within sight of it.

Santee homeowners ask

Partial fill or full pool removal, which should we choose?

It depends on the ground’s future. Partial fill at $6,000 to $12,000 is fine for lawn and landscaping. Anything structural over the footprint, an ADU included, wants full removal with compacted engineered fill at $9,000 to $20,000. We price both on one visit so the decision has numbers.

Can the pool come out and the ADU pad go in as one project?

Yes, and it is the best-value version. One mobilization, one export operation and one compaction program covering both scopes typically saves 15 to 25 percent against doing them a year apart.

How disruptive is a removal to the neighbors?

A few days of machine noise during working hours and a string of trucks on export day. We schedule hauling to miss school pickup on the grid streets and keep the site fenced and tidy between days, which keeps the block friendly.

Cabrillo Excavation digs the whole county. See the cost guide, the ADU site prep page, or nearby areas: La Mesa, El Cajon, Chula Vista.
